Located next door to the famous Copacabana Palace, the apartment was renovated in 2004 with a view to creating an open spacious feel with frontal views of the sea from anywhere in the living room, bedroom, study, or Japanese hot tub, or while cooking, taking a shower, or brushing your teeth! Beams and columns were disguised while curves, circles and ellipses were employed liberally on ceilings, walls, floors, doors, built-in furniture, and a glass sculpture.
Already featured in three design magazines, a national design TV show, and a national newspaper, the apartment is both functional and aesthetically pleasing. It is also high-tech. Just one touch of a handheld panel screen simultaneously dims the lights, lowers the curtain, turns on the amplifier, pre-amplifier, subwoofer and satellite dish, lowers the screen and projector hidden about the false ceiling, and changes the glass panel to bring up icons from your favorite channels. A touch on a wall panel screen lowers the anti-glare curtains in the front of the apartment. Another touch creates a romantic mode. A wireless broadband connection allows several computers to access the internet and allows you to listen to your iTunes songs from your favorite stereo.
